The consequences of denial and the stubborness of the mind (Ethiomedia0

Blaming someone else: For instance some people say, the TPLF came to power by using force; they divided Ethiopia along the ethnic and regional partitions; and are responsible for all the ills in the country. There is no denial that there is a serious problem, but that problem is blamed entirely on the TPLF. By so doing the individual or communities have defended themselves against the need to take any action to remedy the situation. By so doing these individuals have put the sole responsibility of fixing the problems of Ethiopia on the regime which has made no secret from the onset that it is its sworn duty to destroy Ethiopia!.more..

Ginbot 7, a Movement for Justice and Democracy is formed (Galbeed)

We are continuing what we began on May 15th 2005 and October of 2006 in which we promised to make the people of Ethiopia the sole source of political power, and that is why we decided to form the “Ginbot 7 Movement.”

The primary objective of our movement is to stir our country towards a stable democratic process and transition. We recognize that this effort or task will not be achieved by one political party alone, or by few political parties who share similar ideologies. It needs a willing coalition of and collective effort of all parties who feel or claim to have a stake in Ethiopia’s political future. We see the need that all stakeholders need to discuss and reach a mutual agreement on how to achieve the stated objective. Our movement is fully committed and dedicated in bringing all parties together to begin dialogue. To that end, we are already seeing promising signs....more..

Meles Zenawi is back to business (Ethiomedia)

In fact, survival as a country is the most critical problem facing Ethiopia at the moment. In addition to his humiliation and repression of its citizens, Meles Zenawi is continuing his despicable task of violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ethiopia. He is holding Ethiopia hostage and functioning as a patronage for foreign interest in the country and the region.
